Today I visited the exhibition “Propaganda And Manipulation”, where political placards from Upper Austria in the period 1918 to 2008 are shown. I highly recommend this exhibition. It is opened till June 26.

Since we enjoy some good stage performance and traveling, we decided to spend a couple of days in Berlin and watch the Musical “Elisabeth”, which is performed at the “Theater des Westens” (Wikipedia, in German available only). We are traveling overnight by train because of the very cheap rate which is offered by the Austrian Federal Railways.
Pete and I are meeting in the next few days to figure out a rough plan to cover the activities we are interested in. I’m looking forward to another great trip!

On the occasion of my nomination had been confirmed, we had a little celebration today. Peter took some photos – thanks a lot! It was my pleasure drinking sparkling wine with you. Thank you for spending your time.
Today I received the confirmation of acceptance from Emory University, which is quite a milestone! Things are moving! After housing–living on- or off-campus–is clarified, I will book the flight. Further, I have to check which courses are available for me and make up a shortlist afterwards which is important to qualify for any scholarship. Also, it speeds up transferring the credit to my curriculum here at JKU after coming back. Atlanta, I’m coming!
As I finished my Financial Certificate today, I proudly exchanged a few Dollars. Although the exchange rate was pretty good, I just got each dollar note once (except the Two Dollar Bill).
When I decided for a live as full-time student I was driven by two things: to finish my studies as fast as possible and to spend a year abroad. I guess this is indispensable to get a basic idea about things happening in the world. Further, language improvement and becoming familiar with other cultures are important facts. Moreover, moving abroad is crucial for self-development.
So I started my preparations in September last year by reading several reports from former exchange students to get a basic idea about studying abroad. I have also met some students and they shared their experiences. Soon, I decided to go to an English-speaking non-European country. The application was handed in on January 31st and after a waiting period of several weeks I got the invitation for the personal interview which was on March 4th. Thereafter, I received the nomination for Emory University / Goizueta Business School after a couple of days on March 17, which was the kickoff for extensive preparation work. Vaccinations need to be done, lots of certificates had to be obtained. And the courses have to be selected. Now, this work is almost finished and the documents are going to be sent in the next few days. I’m looking forward to spend a great time in Atlanta!
