The Master Idea

One of my classes this semester was Ideation. In this class we tried to build the “Master Idea” for a specific company based on Joey Reiman’s method, who also taught the class. He is the founder and CEO of BrightHouse. This company is applying this method very successfully. Here is our result from this class – our company was Teavana. Enjoy!

A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols

The Emory University Chorus and the Emory Concert Choir were giving a wonderful Christmas Carol Concert this weekend at the Glenn Memorial Auditorium. I attended the Saturday 5pm performance. At least after this performance I do not accept any longer people saying that America is a culture-free zone! It was awesome and very Christmasy 🙂 The program is available here.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a very important holiday for Americans. I recognized this a little bit late but I was lucky that ISSP (an organization at emory which supports international students) helped me to get a family contact at the very last minute. It was a wonderful experience for me to spend this holiday and I am grateful for their hospitality.

Then I continued walking down all Peachtree St NE, took a break at Starbucks, passed Margaret Mitchell House, till 14th. Finally I walked through Piedmont Park and took 36 back to Emory (Clifton Road). Enjoy my pics!

La Cenerentola

Yesterday I’ve watched the opera La Cenerentola at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. Atlanta has no opera building, but there is an Atlanta Opera Organisation. It was a great performance, as I expected it from a Rossini opera. Sure, Vienna is superior 😉

Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra

I just came back from a fantastic concert of the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra under the conductor Antoni Wit. They are currently on a tour through the United States and gave a concert this evening at Emerson Concert Hall / Schwartz Center.

  • Serenade for String Orchestra, op. 2 (1897) (Mieczyslaw Karlowicz)
  • Piano Concerto No. 1, E-flat Major (Franz Liszt)
  • Symphony No. 2, op. 73, D Major (Johannes Brahms)

Usually, tickets for this performance are 80 Dollars. Emory offers a “passport for creativity and arts” for students which contains a lot of vouchers for concerts, exhibitions… including this one. The passport is just for eight Dollars! What an amazing offer!

Halloween!

Carving Pumpkins
Carving Pumpkins

The last two nights we celebrated Halloween! Usually it is just on October 31st, but of course we had a preparty on 30th 🙂 where we told each other ghost stories. Usually, I’m not so much into dressing up, but due to the peer pressure I decided to be a doc. And I carved a pumpkin. It was actually nice. I think I also do this back in Austria.

Daniel, the doc! ;)
