This afternoon I arrived in Montréal. Maria picked me up at the métro station Berri-Uqam, the final stop of the L’Aérobus. She spoiled me with home made Gulasch for lunch! We took the bus to the university where I got a short campus tour–including the Thursday evening beer 4@7.

In the evening we walked down Rue St-Denis to Rue Ste-Catherine E. We were just strolling around downtown and enjoyed the city. Here are the pics.
I’m going to spend my Fall Break from Thursday October 9th to Wednesday October 15th in Canada! I am visiting Maria in Montréal and together with three other exchange students we are traveling to Toronto and Niagara Falls by car. I’m very much looking forward to it!
My Czech adventure startet today at 6:14am at Linz Main Train Station. The train was on time all the way to Prague (which I still can’t believe…). Cabins are designed for eight people which was super cramped. And no A/C of course.
Tomorrow I take the early train at 06:14 am from Linz to Prague where I meet some former exchange students from JKU Linz. I’m going to spend six days with them to see Prague and the neighborhood. Hopefully, I have the possibility of internet to write some blog entires and put some pictures online! 🙂
The library of my home university JKU in Linz has really poorly opening hours during holidays – it is opened from 9am to 12am. So (and of course because I like traveling), I’m writing my thesis in Vienna at the libraries of the University of Vienna and of the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.
Since yesterday the summer ticket of the Austrian Federal Railways is valid, I’m quite busy with traveling. Our first trip led us to Leopoldsberg and Kahlenberg (in Vienna), one of my most favorite places in Austria. Have a look at the pictures! We enjoyed dinner at (my favorite) Asian restaurant Toka Lee in Grinzing. After dinner we split up – some went home; my three American guests and I went to Prater (see also prater.at and Wikipedia) to see the famous Giant Ferris Wheel (see also Wikipedia).
Since we enjoy some good stage performance and traveling, we decided to spend a couple of days in Berlin and watch the Musical “Elisabeth”, which is performed at the “Theater des Westens” (Wikipedia, in German available only). We are traveling overnight by train because of the very cheap rate which is offered by the Austrian Federal Railways.
Pete and I are meeting in the next few days to figure out a rough plan to cover the activities we are interested in. I’m looking forward to another great trip!
